AFK works, but the game is not infinite storage
Build A Ring Farm is comfortable for idle play, but I would not plan around endless offline gains. The current configuration caps offline time at 480 minutes, which is about 8 hours.
That cap changes how you should build. A setup that looks good for one huge overnight number may be worse than a stable setup you can collect from regularly.
How I set up for AFK
- Choose growth cycles that match when you can actually come back.
- For long breaks, prefer stable pets and mutations over rare spike setups.
- If the next upgrade takes longer than the offline cap, plan a check-in instead of pretending the timer keeps going forever.
- Use hourly and daily estimates as planning numbers, not guaranteed stored income.
Active farming vs AFK farming
Active farming rewards attention. You can react to events, replace weak plants, and use tools at the right time. AFK farming rewards boring reliability. If you are leaving the game alone, the best setup is the one that keeps producing without needing perfect timing.
My quick check
I put the setup into the calculator, read the hourly result, then divide the next upgrade cost by that number. If the answer goes past the offline cap, I either plan a check-in or lower my target.
